EVENING INTRODUCTORY PROGRAM

8 WEEKS, $2175
SEPTEMBER 17-NOVEMBER 7
TUESDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, THURSDAYS   6:30pm – 10:30pm
This course is a taste of conservatory training with classes in Acting Technique, Scene Study, Movement, and Voice & Speech. Students will develop more fully as actors in this intensive, multi-disciplinary program.

This new, intensive course is a taste of conservatory training with classes in Acting Technique, Scene Study, Movement, and Voice & Speech. Students will develop more fully as actors in this weekend, multi-disciplinary program.

ACTING TECHNIQUE I

8 WEEKS, $575
Option 1: TUESDAYS, SEPTEMBER 17-NOVEMBER 5   1pm – 4pm
Option 2: TUESDAYS, SEPTEMBER 17-NOVEMBER 5   7pm – 10pm
This Stella Adler® program explores the language and principles of Stella Adler’s approach to acting, including action, circumstance, and justification. Students will develop a foundation from which to build themselves as actors as well as human beings.

ACTING TECHNIQUE II

Acting Technique I Required
8 WEEKS, $575
TUESDAYS, SEPTEMBER 17-NOVEMBER 5   1pm – 4pm
This Stella Adler® program is a deeper investigation of the concepts introducted in Acting Technique I. Students will strengthen what they have learned in Acting Technique I through advanced exercises developed by Stella Adler.

SCENE STUDY I

8 WEEKS, $605
Option 1: MONDAYS, SEPTEMBER – NOVEMBER 11   7pm – 10pm
(Skips Monday, October 14th, in observance of Columbus Day)
Option 2: WEDNESDAYS, SEPTEMBER 18TH – NOVEMBER 6   7pm – 10pm
This class is a combination of fundamental acting exercises and scene study designed to establish a strong foundation for each actor. Students will learn to develop character through actions and objectives drawn from the text.

SCENE STUDY II

WEDNESDAYS, SEPTEMBER 18 – NOVEMBER 6   7pm – 10pm
This class is a continuation of Scene Study I and integrates the thoughtful examination of a play in its depth of idea and how its meaning translates into an actor’s behavior. Students will learn how to make intelligent choices that serve the play.

SOUND INTO ACTION

8 WEEKS, $550
SATURDAYS, SEPTEMBER 21 – NOVEMBER 9  1pm – 4pm
This class is a unique hybrid of voice and speech, language and text, and acting technique. One hour of voice and speech, followed by an hour of monologue work and an hour of “table work” on a classic play where students will be cast as a company working in its first stage of rehearsal.

APPROACHING THE ROLE

THURSDAYS, SEPTEMBER 19 – NOVEMBER 7 7pm – 10pm
This intermediate scene study course is designed for the actor who has a basic technique, but is seeking a stronger foundation. Actors will analyze the text, the concept of active personalization, the specific creation of a character, emotional accessibility, and the ability to act on impulse with imagination and heart.

ENSEMBLE WORK & VIEWPOINTS

8 WEEKS, $450
MONDAYS, SEPTEMBER 16 – NOVEMBER 11 6:30pm – 8:30pm
(Skips Monday, October 14th, in observance of Columbus Day)
This movement for actors class offers an immersion in Viewpoints training that will deepen ‘full body’ listening, enhance physical awareness, create strong ensemble dynamics, and unleash individual creative power! Viewpoints will help the actor live in the moment, find physical freedom, and open the imagination.

ACTING FOR FILM AND TELEVISION

8 WEEKS, $650
Option 1: TUESDAYS, SEPTEMBER 17 – NOVEMBER 5   6:30pm – 10:30pm
Option 2: SATURDAYS, SEPTEMBER 21 – NOVEMBER 9   2pm – 6pm
This intermediate class is an “immersion” experience in the techniques necessary to work in feature film as well as in television dramas and comedies. Students will learn to memorize scripts quickly, relax in front of a camera and “find themselves” in the roles they are playing; three skills necessary for success in feature film and television performance.

MASTER TEACHERS WORKSHOP SERIES

JON KORKES MASTERCLASS

This advanced level class is an exploration of scenes and monologues from works written after 1920. Students will work with renowned actor and teacher Jon Korkes on how their instincts and imagination can serve the material being performed.

This class synthesizes contemporary scene work with technique exercises that explore the language and principles of Stella Adler’s approach to acting, including action, circumstance, and justification. Actors will learn how to “put it all together.”

ON CAMERA MASTER CLASS WITH RON BURRUS

Acting Technique I Required

OPTION 1: MONDAYS, SEPTEMBER 16 – NOVEMBER 11   6:30pm – 9:30pm

OPTION 2: WEDNESDAYS, SEPTEMBER 18 – NOVEMBER 6   6:30pm – 9:30pm
This class focuses on screenplay analysis, character building, and “transforming understanding into doing.” Actors will apply the approach developed by Stella Adler directly to on-camera work with master teacher Ron Burrus.
